Oud. Origin Country: Egypt. 37" L x 20" W x 13" H. 50 lbs. Made by Mid-East. (MD.OUDX-E)

Egyptian Mosaic Pear shaped Oud, 11 Strings with case. The body of this oud has the shape of a Bartlett Pear with smooth soft curves. The back of the bowl and the neck are fully covered with geometric mosaic of contrasting woods, white and black tiles and simulated Mother of Pearl accents. Under the mosaic the body has stave construction. The three round sound holes has carved rosette inserts and are rimmed by simulated Mother of Pearl inlay. The soundboard has a light finish. The Bridge is fixed. There are eleven strings in five courses of two and one single string (nylon, nylon wound and metal wound). The nut to bridge measures approximately 24 inches. Almost too pretty to play, you will want to display the mosaic to everyone. Over all dimensions are approximately 32 x 15 x 8 inches. Oud includes oud pick and case. The case has three locks and a hand grip, vinyl outside and cloth inside.

SPECIAL NOTE; No Warranty on Strings:

Whether you purchase an instrument on-line or in a neighborhood store, manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey to your home. During this time the strings WILL oxidize and this may shorten their life expectancy and may reduce their sound quality. On occasion instruments may arrive with a broken string, therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings as soon as it arrives. Learning to change strings should be the first lesson learned when embarking on the journey of playing a new instrument.
