Based upon the Renaissance Lute which was prevalent in Europe in the 16th and 17th century, the Lute-kulele™ is one of the sweetest sounding ukuleles in our collection and is ideally suited for classical and finger-style music. This Tenor-sized instrument is based upon a 430 mm (17 inches) scale and features six strings. The first (A) and third (C) strings are doubled providing a rich full and balanced tone. It is played like any normal 4-string ukulele. It features a European spruce soundboard with the famous Leonardo Knot rosette which was a favorite of many Renaissance lute makers. The back is made in the traditional manner of lute-making and is made of staves of sheesham rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo). The neck and pegbox are solid sheesham rosewood and features a bone nut with a width of 37mm (1 1/2 inch). This instrument is outfitted with traditional ebony lute pegs. The bridge is also made of sheesham rosewood. An end-pin strap button is standard.

This instrument is available separately with an all lacewood back (ULTCL) or a variegated back with alternating staves of rosewood and lacewood (ULTVL).

"Thanks again for everything you've done. I couldn't have asked for any better service, nor have I received any better service. I've been treated better by you than I have the local music stores where I deal in person. You can expect to get ALL of my business from this point forward!!! Feel free to post anything I've sent you on your testimonials page. I'll be glad to write something detailing my experience, if you'd like."

"I would just like to take the opportunity to thank you for your quality customer service. Buying things off of the internet is still a little nerve-wracking for me and can seem very impersonal, but you guys have been awesome, I appreciate your quick responses to the emails and the guitar sounds great! I would have no problem in making future purchases through you and would recommend your service to others."
