Oscar Schmidt OQ40S Cuatro with Gig Bag

Oscar Schmidt's line of Latin guitars brings us a well-made and afforable version of the ten-string cuatro moderno from Puerto Rico. Like many folk instruments, the cuatro is increasingly used across genres, including jibaro, classical, jazz, bluegrass, salon genres, salsa, and even rock music.

The sound of the cuatro has been compared to the cittern or a cross between a 12-string guitar and a mandolin. The cuatro has ten strings in five courses, tuned from low to high B, E, A, D and G with B and E in octaves and A, D and G in unisons.
