Bass Basics Ultimate Beginner Series (DVD)

This video is very good for absolute beginners. If you already have some background in music/bass/guitar, then you probably wont get too much out of this, however if not, it's an excellent resource. Dave Titus explains everything very well.

This is a great vidoe for beginners. I look at it every month or two depending on how much i practice. It shows the neccacary basics for beginners. I would recommend it to anyone who oicks up the bass for the first time.

The video is of good quality,i refer to this about once every few months if i'm having trouble with say,right hand techniques.This is so basic it fits for any style or level. the worst aspect is that it could be longer,especially on the little theroy he covers.But there is a volume 2 available.this is easy to understand and play along with. If not,rewind and play again.I recommend this for beginners and intermediate players alike.

I actually learned a lot from this video. The videos came FREE when I purchased my first Bass Guitar. I can truly say that this is good foundational resource. I just wish Dale Titus would do more than instructionals, he needs to produce a solo cd. But I highly recommend the videos for beginners. Listen to Vic Wooten later.

The Sund and picture is good i guess...It helped in the beginning when i just plucked strings that i thought sounded good and didnt know nothin about music..well seeing how I will be the first to tell you I am not as good as id like to be.....it was very suitable for my skill level......its an interesting video.....teaches you alot of good basics and its trippy when he gets to changin his "G" string

I got Ultimate Beginner Series- Bass Basics Vol. 1, and Vol.2 videos, book and CD as a set. If you follow along in the book you will learn some basics, however I would not give a full recommendation on this one.

I have to disagree with the previous review. This series is excellent. Of course it won't teach you everything, but no video can. It's fun, effective, and produced very well. It's also a very low price. I would recommend the DVD version to any beginner on bass.

What do I think of the video and what use have I learnt from it? 1)The video has good picture and sound quality. 2)This video has taught me the fundamentals of bass playing and sometimes when I havent got anything else to do, I go thrue the exercises again just to make sure I remember them. 3)The video is (like I have said before) very good for beginners and it covers alot of different styles(blues, country, rock, latin and ballads).

Do not buy this, it is a waste of money. It is lame. It will make you lame. And as a general rule of thumb, if anything says Dale Titus, avoid it.
