Good for Music Appreciation Sunday, multi-choir festivals or genera l worship, this stirring anthem is written for one or three choirs with optional brass quartet and handbells. The work opens with bril liant choral and instrumental fanfares, then moves into a sturdy se tting of the beloved hymntune. Verses 1 and 3 call for optional con gregational participation. If performing with more than one choir, why not divide the choirs spatially, creating an antiphonal effect?
