Born and schooled in Germany, Kuhlau fled to Copenhagen when Hamburg was in vaded by Napoleon's army. Although best known for his piano sonatas and son atinas, he first composed and published vocal works and pieces for flute an d piano. Kuhlau was not actually able to play the flute, but with his music al abilities and the help of a friend who played the flute in the royal orc hestra, he wrote flute music that was among his finest instrumental composi tions. A contemporary and acquaintance of Beethoven, Kuhlau was one of the most important Danish composers of the late Classical and early Romantic pe riods.

"I placed my order for an accordion on a Sunday morning before President's Day, expecting the typical delays associated with weekend and holiday orders. Then, to my surprise, the accordion arrived on Tuesday right after President's Day. I was very pleased, not only for the quality of service, but also for the quality of the instrument. The sound is beautiful, and I will play it in church this coming Sabbath. Many thanks"
