From Afro-Cuban to Rock demonstrates the implementation of the rhythms of C uba into non-traditional settings. This DVD showcases the Santana rhythm se ction starring Raul Rekow and Karl Perazzo on congas, timbales, and other p ercussion instruments. Joining them are Billy Johnson and Myron Dove from t he Santana band on drums and bass along with keyboard player Rebeca Mauleon . The band applies traditional rhythms such as Guajira, Guaguanco, Palo, Ch a Cha, Rumba Columbia, and Afro-Cuban 6/8 to actual musical arrangements, a nd provides instruction for each on various percussion instruments.
