Roscoe Beck - Blues Bass Basics Steps One & Two Combined Ultimate Beginner Series CD Included

The book is instructional,i promise that it'll make a great blues player out of you,if you pay particular attention to what's being done in the book,as a pro i learned lots of things from this book.it's suitable for any musician who doesn't know much about blues bass. the book has a cd which helps a lot for practicing and hearing yourself through a blues band,and it teaches you to find your grooves through the band. some of the great advantages of the book are: 1-each section covers different material from the other ones and each one sontains a new and special aspect in blues,for example you'll learn walking basses in theslow blues section or 2 beat blues feel in the shuffle section. 2-there's a really valuable section in the book which you should play your own basslines upon what you've kearned through the book in several styles.and it's a treasure if you do it good. ther are several variations through examples that are not mentioned in the texts and if you pay attention to them,you'll learn much more from the book. there arw some mistakes in the notation which is the only bad thing that i saw through the book.pay attention and figur them out and try to play them just like you hear it.

This book is everything you need to get on your way to becoming a blue's bass player. If you already play blue's and know quite a bit about it then this is not for you. This book show's the very basic information on blue's bass playing and cover's everything from tuning your guitar to 12 bar blue's playiing minor and slow blue's etc.... The book did include a c.d which was helpful because it had commentary on there from Roscoe Beck who is a well accomplished blue's bsass player. The only problem with this was that between changing track's the band played a little blue's song which didn't really help in my learning of blue's. My favourite aspect of the book is that it build's you up easily from 12 bar blue's through to more complicated stuff but not to hard as so it's very hard to learn to play. Overall this book taught me a lot on blue's bass playing and has encouraged me to buy other book's by the same company.

Instructional book, it's very easy to use and I often look back over things, It comes with a CD and I often use the short riffs and bass lines in it as a warm up before I do something big
